Polar is a stunning live concert experience which takes the audience on a journey to the magical frozen lands and seas at the ends of the earth. Come with us to experience the great ice fields and icebergs north and south of the 66th parallel in this celebration of music and film. See the white blizzards, dazzling blue oceans and vast wilderness of the South, watch the mighty polar bear, the haunting beluga whales and beautiful humpback whales in the company of a whorl renowned symphony orchestra, a specially arranged score and immense screen.
The premier concert took place at the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool with the RLPO in January 2011. In the Winter of 2011, Polar visited the RNCM with Manchester Camerata, the National Concert Hall in Dublin with the RTE Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Hall in Birmingham with the CBSO.
Polar is a family concert aimed at people from all walks of life and without language barriers. 70 minutes in total, the concert is a performance of music and film only. There is no narrative, no presenter, no interpreter; just stunning natural history film and a live orchestra playing some of the best music ever written.
